The 13th annual Waterbury Arts Fest, held in Waterbury, VT – minutes from West Hill House B&B – is scheduled for July 11th and 12th, 2014.
And what is the Waterbury Arts Festival?
This annual festival-cum-block party of the arts in Waterbury is a collection of more than 80 vendors showcasing their fine art plus food, drink, and live entertainment. Last year’s celebration brought in thousands of visitors from all over who took home all manner of one-of-a-kind jewelery, crafts, home furnishings, apparel, and fine art – and this year is looking to be even bigger and better.
The Waterbury Arts Fest starts off with a bang at 6pm, Friday when the Wine and Beer Garden opens, followed by live entertainment in the form of Nimble Arts, a trapeze aerobatics act, and local musicians Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band, performing their own brand of retro-soul.
Saturday’s events and entertainment include the Arrrrr-some Pirate-themed Bike Parade, singer and songwriter Sadie Bolger, the Heather Bryce Dance Company and Green Mountain Performing Arts dance companies, the Gypsy Jazz of the Dan Liptak Trio, the “newgrass” stylings of Wiley Dobbs, and the rocking fun of the Aerolites.
The Waterbury Arts Fest is a family friendly affair including, along with aforementioned Bike Parade, a popular Art Spy Scavenger Hunt that challenges kids of all ages to track down specific art and artists throughout the festival.
As for vendors, you can expect to see a wide variety of incredible offerings from some of Vermont’s most talented artists, including metal crafted and plant art jewelry, framed original art prints, handmade clothing and accessories, quilted items, hand-dyed silk, fused glass art, handmade stoneware and pottery, all natural body care products, carved and turned wooden bowls, decor made from naturally shed antlers, stained glass, handmade beads, local wines, jellies, jams, and so very much more!
