Vermont Mountain Bike Festival 2016The Vermont Mountain Bike Association’s annual Vermont Mountain Bike Festival is being held at Mount Ellen at Sugarbush this year – July 22nd through the 24th, 2016.

Vermont’s passion for mountain biking continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Here in the Mad River Valley, a growing number of mountain biking trails have sprung up, making us home to some of the state’s finest mountain biking. One of the best, multi-use trail networks in the Green Mountains has its base here: a 45-plus mile series of trails that includes the most popular Mad River Valley trailheads for biking, hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing. There are beginner-friendly trails, like Blueberry Lake in the Green Mountain National Forest, and more challenging, classic mountain biking trails in places like Camel’s Hump State Park.

Local biking enthusiasts, like the Mad River Riders, help to maintain and grow these trails.

The Mad River Riders also maintain an extremely detailed and informative list of Vermont mountain biking trails. Another good list of both Vermont road biking loops and mountain biking trails can be found on the site.

The Mad River Riders are celebrating the 30th Anniversary of their organization in 2016 by hosting the Vermont Mountain Bike Festival. Considered one of the best mountain bike festivals in the country, if you’re a mountain biking enthusiast or just looking for a fun weekend, you should definitely attend.

Riders of all types will enjoy the Vermont Mountain Bike Festival, with ride events that are technical, rocky, flowing, and downhill. There will be rides for all ability levels in the mornings and afternoons, along with family rides and clinics are hosted all weekend long.

The Vermont Mountain Bike Festival will also have nearly 40 different vendors on hand, including bike demos from several manufacturers, sports gear, local food, craft brewers, distillers, and more. Over 400 riders are expected – why not be one of them?

While we are already fully booked for the Festival weekend, we do hope you’ll consider staying at West Hill House B&B, located on a quiet country lane in Warren, VT – just one mile from Sugarbush, when you come to enjoy all the mountain biking trails in the Mad River Valley. We offer indoor storage for your bikes or, if need be, will be happy to direct you to area bike rentals. Escape to our quiet haven in the Vermont countryside with 9 amazingly comfortable guest rooms, sumptuous three-course breakfasts, an EV charging station, and unusual amenities like a Quaich Single Malt Scotch bar – and all in a certified Green Hotel.
