Ski at Mad River Glen this Year!
Tucked away in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains, the Mad River Glen Ski Resort is one of the most cherished in New England. Known for its fiercely loyal following, natural terrain, and commitment to preserving the essence of classic skiing, Mad River Glen offers a unique winter experience that stands apart from the glitz and glam of modern ski resorts. It has earned a reputation as a “skier’s mountain” with its narrow trails, many with ungroomed snow, and natural features that create a true alpine challenge.
Mad River Glen is also one of the last ski resorts in the country that’s cooperatively owned and non-commercial. This only adds to the old-world charm of zipping down the mountain here. Whether you’re an avid skier looking for a fresh experience or a novice hoping to learn from the best, Mad River Glen Ski Resort is a destination you won’t want to miss.
Before you buy your lift tickets, you’ll want to solidify your lodging in the area, and our Vermont Bed and Breakfast is one of the most popular places for skiers to stay. Not only are we close to Mad River Glen, but we’re also less than five minutes from Sugarbush Ski Resort, one of the largest ski resorts in New England. Our cozy Inn is the perfect place to settle in after a long day on the slopes: curl up by the fire, enjoy a warm beverage, and put your feet up. Book your room at our B&B today!
Mad River Glen Ski Resort is one of the Best Places to Ski in Vermont
Unlike many resorts that cater to the masses with wide, perfectly groomed slopes, Mad River Glen embraces a more authentic approach to skiing. Its rugged and natural terrain offers an exhilarating ride down the mountain that connects skiers to the raw beauty of Vermont’s landscape.
The resort’s famous slogan, “Ski It If You Can,” reflects its reputation as a challenging destination for advanced skiers, although it also has a good variety of blue and green runs as well. Steep slopes, tight glades, and unpredictable conditions make Mad River Glen a favorite for those who crave adventure and are eager to test their skills. Despite its reputation for difficulty, Mad River Glen is also welcoming beginner skiers.
One of Mad River Glen’s most unique aspects is its iconic single chairlift, the last of its kind in the United States. This historic lift provides skiers with a peaceful ride to the top, a quiet moment to soak in panoramic views of the surrounding peaks before tackling the mountain’s legendary trails.
Whether you’re heading to New England to ski at Mad River Glen or Sugarbush Resort, our Vermont bed and breakfast is a fantastic location for both ski resorts. We also offer an excellent skier’s package, including a generous lodging discount. Here are the details below:

- Transportation from our Inn directly to Sugarbush Ski Resort is one of the most convenient amenities for avid skiers hoping to spend as much time as possible on the mountains.
