Cool Off at these Refreshing Lakes in Vermont
With temperatures creeping up all over the country, one of the best ways to beat the heat is to explore the beautiful, pristine lakes in Vermont, where you can swim, kayak, and soak up the sunshine. While many parts of the country have been experiencing higher-than-average heat waves this summer, the forested hills of the Mad River Valley offer a welcome reprieve, with lots of waterways, shaded trails, and swimming holes to cool off and refresh.
One of our favorite places for a swim or kayaking on that hot summer’s day is Blueberry Lake. This manufactured lake in Warren is shallow enough to wade in and big enough to explore by paddle. It has a gorgeous view of the Northfield Mountains and is surrounded by the Green Mountain National Forest—and, you guessed it, wild blueberries! There are so many beautiful places throughout Vermont to connect with nature and feel a world away from the city.
Another one of those unique places is our Vermont bed and breakfast in Warren, West Hill House B&B. We offer a classic lodging style with attentive service, home-cooked breakfasts and treats, and a unique space to relax and unwind. Our location is central to all of the best things to do this summer, including a few of the best lakes in Vermont for swimming and kayaking. Start planning your next getaway and book your room at our historic B&B today!
