EV Charging Stations at our Vermont B&B!

Our number one priority at our Vermont bed and breakfast is our guests. First, we aim to welcome each person who steps foot on our property with open arms and a genuine smile. A close second is being a beacon of sustainability and environmental responsibility. We’ve made so many advancements to our Inn for our guests to proudly use and join us in our quest to be stewards of a greener future. One of these significant implementations is our complimentary EV charging stations for our guests.

We’ve long been a destination for those driving electric vehicles; over time, we’ve added more stations. We are now the proud owners of five complimentary level two EV chargers up to 12kW for free EV charging, powered by solar panels and exclusively for our guests. The availability of EV chargers is a game-changer for eco-conscious travelers. Guests can conveniently charge their vehicles overnight, knowing they’re not only enjoying a relaxing getaway but also contributing to reducing emissions.

For those seeking an eco-friendly destination, the Innkeepers at our Vermont bed and breakfast have embraced green practices to ensure a sustainable future. From electric vehicle chargers to solar power and eco-friendly initiatives, West Hill House B&B offers guests a comfortable stay while minimizing its environmental footprint without compromising on luxury. Free EV Charging & More at our Vermont Bed and Breakfast

Sustainability has always been an important part of our business model. We’ve implemented many green practices over the years at West Hill House B&B, and we’ve officially been a designated green property since 2008. We’ve seen a rise of like-minded travelers seeking these amenities, and we’ve been a leader in solar power use, free EV charging stations, and thoughtful environmental practices.

Here’s everything to know about our green practices at our Vermont bed and breakfast:

  1. Five EV Charging Stations: West Hill House B&B offers five complimentary level Two EV chargers up to 12kW exclusively for overnight guests. It’s a perfect choice for those looking to explore Vermont without worrying about where to charge up. Guests love the convenience of being able to recharge their vehicles overnight while they rest up for the next day’s adventures. Our chargers support both Tesla (NACS) and J-1772.
  2. 100% Solar Powered: We’ve long been a pioneer in the lodging industry in converting to solar power. A dream that began with a small share of a Solar Array in Poultney, Vermont, is now a reality, with 100% of our electricity generated by the sun on a net basis over the year. Know that every light you switch (or when you charge your car or phone) on at our Inn is powered by clean, sustainable energy!
  3. Sustainable Practices: Our ability to use solar power also translates to how we cool the Inn in the summer and heat it in the winter. We implemented a pre-heating water system, which reduced our propane use, and our guests get to have those luxurious steamy showers and baths.
  4. Supporting Local Agriculture and Farms: Our three-course homemade breakfast is one of the best times of day at the Inn. We continue our dream for a greener future by supporting local farms as much as possible. During your stay, you’ll enjoy local Vermont products, from locally made cheeses and farm-fresh veggies to maple syrup and more.
  5. Recycling, Compost, and Our Water Program: Along with the bigger implementations, we also do all of the small things to try and be the greenest property possible. That’s offering easy recycling options and compost for all food waste and yard debris, and we even encourage our guests to avoid using one-time-use plastics with reusable water bottles. We have crisp, clean, spring-fed well water that runs from every faucet.
