Our Guide for Things To Do in Vermont & The Mad River Valley

There is a multitude of Things to Do and experience in this unique part of Vermont during all seasons of the year and the Mad River Event Calendar has up-to-date information about many of the specific events taking place.

Also, you will find lots of guidance for planning your Mad River Valley getaway by watching the video. It was many months in the making, with a cast from all over the valley plus visitors, and from watching it you will realize why those who live here are passionate about the valley, and why those who don’t can’t wait for their next visit! Enjoy, it runs about 20 minutes, and there is a neat encore after the credits!

Another great resource is your innkeepers Peter & Susan who look forward to helping you take best advantage of your visit, both by helping with your plans before you arrive and once you get here. We are ready to give directions, make restaurant recommendations and reservations, and assist in whatever way we can.

Our location in Warren, Vermont is the perfect place to relax and enjoy your Mad River Valley vacation: beautiful scenery year round, no traffic lights, no fast food, and with all dining and lodging locally owned and operated. Tranquility awaits you, yet with so many things to do and see! Not to mention the many great restaurant choices close by for an enjoyable dinner each evening.

West Hill House B&B is only one mile from Sugarbush skiing, golfing and tennis resort and adjacent to its Robert Trent Jones Sr. championship golf course – and just seven miles from the Mad River Glen co-operatively owned ski area. We’re off the beaten path, but close to the center of Warren and Waitsfield with all their restaurants, shopping and artisans, and in the midst of outdoor recreation beyond imagination. It’s a great base from which to explore and enjoy all of Central Vermont.

With warm weather hiking, biking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, golf and tennis, soaring, spectacular foliage season autumn colors and wintertime downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and sleigh riding all nearby, Sugarbush and the Mad River Valley is a great place to visit at any season of the year! And don’t forget the Mad Marathon in July, then the month long Vermont Festival of the Arts in August.

Activities also include exploring local shops, artisans, quaint villages, covered bridges, galleries, summer concerts, and theater nearby. Enjoy local festivals such as the Vermont Festival of the Arts in the Mad River Valley, and Fourth of July Celebrations. You can visit the home of America’s best ice cream, Ben and Jerry’s and sample award winning cheese at the Cabot cheese factory. In the evening you can dine at one of the area’s many fine restaurants.

West Hill House B&B is a member of the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce and is a shareholder in Mad River Glen, America’s only cooperatively owned ski area.
