It’s fair to say that when Laura Ingalls lived in the Little House in the Big Woods, she could never have imagined that today, more than 150 years later, we would be talking about a Tiny House in the Big Woods!
That, however, is exactly what the Mad River Valley will be talking about come the end of October when Yestermorrow Design/Build School here in Waitsfield, Vermont, hosts The Tiny House Fest – a weekend of activities starting on Friday, October 25, 2019.
Tiny House living is not new to Yestermorrow Design/Build School. In 2013 Yestermorrow presented the nation’s
first Tiny House Fair and currently Yestermorrow offers a Design/Build Certificate Program.
Here in the Mad River Valley, the Tiny House Fest will turn the area surrounding Sugarbush Resort into a Tiny House village. There will be tiny homes to tour, designers and builders to talk with, seminars to attend, business exhibits to view, and hands-on activities, all focused on the ever growing Tiny House movement.
The Fest offers the freedom to explore creative housing solutions and how people live in relationship to community and the environment. Talk to the experts, visit their homes and challenge your own perception of “home”.
This Fest may be the opportunity to change your perception and help you think outside the box by exploring a different approach to housing.
All the exhibitors, sponsors and vendors are local to Vermont and the North East. Attending the fest and visiting their booths helps to support their businesses and it doesn’t get much better than supporting our neighbors!
Several thousand visitors are expected over the weekend of events which includes Friday Films, a Feast Before the Fest, Saturday Tours, and Sunday Fest.
If you are planning to stay in the Valley, booking your accommodation now is strongly encouraged, as it’s going to be a very busy weekend. While are not tiny – in fact far from it as we offer spacious accommodation – we do our bit to be environmentally respectful, so where better to stay while you are here than our “Green Hotel in the Green Mountain State”, just one mile from the festival?
While you are in the Mad River Valley there are many locally owned shops, restaurants, and cafes for you to visit.
The Mad River Valley is waiting to welcome you.
See You Soon!
